Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control of it.

Who we are

Nouss Technologies provides purchase-intent scoring for ecommerce stores. When you install Nouss on your store, you remain the data controller for your shoppers' data and Nouss acts as your data processor under a Data Processing Agreement.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, work email, company name and store URL supplied when you sign up or request a demo.
  • Behavioural signals from your store: pages viewed, on-site searches, scroll depth, media and review engagement, cart and checkout events, session timing and returning-visit patterns.
  • Technical information: coarse device type, browser, and country-level location derived from IP. We do not store full IP addresses beyond the processing session.
  • Commercial information from your store, such as order value and product categories, used to calibrate scores.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand how merchants use the Nouss dashboard. This is aggregated, limited to our own product, and never combined with shopper-level data from your store.

Cookies

Our marketing site uses essential cookies and, with consent, analytics cookies. The Nouss script on your store uses a first-party identifier scoped to your domain to recognise returning sessions. See our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown and how to opt out.

Shopify and platform integrations

When you connect Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom store, we receive only the data required to score visitors and build audiences. We request the minimum scopes available and never request payment, banking or staff account data.

Read-only permissions

Our store integrations are read-only for catalogue, customer and order data. Nouss cannot modify products, prices, orders or customer records. Write access is limited to the audience objects we create in the advertising platforms you explicitly connect.

Data retention

Raw behavioural events are retained for 13 months by default. Aggregated intent scores are retained for the life of your account. You can shorten retention at any time, and we delete your data within 30 days of an account closure or deletion request.

Your rights

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Export your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object to or restrict specific processing activities.

GDPR

For EU and UK merchants, Nouss processes personal data only on your documented instructions, honours consent signals from your consent management platform including Google Consent Mode, stores EU merchant data in the EU by default, and relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for any international transfer. A DPA is available at /dpa.

CCPA and CPRA

Nouss does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. California residents may request access, deletion or correction through the merchant whose store collected the data, and we will action verified requests as a service provider.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher and at rest. Access is role-based, logged, and limited to staff who need it to operate the service.
